Artist Statement First and foremost I would like to thank you for visiting my page. My name is Ely Acosta and I am a 29 year old single mother, who is in the midst creating herself.

I have loved photography for as long as I can remember. When I was asked what I was going to do with my life, without hesitation I would answer " I am going to travel and be a photographer". Well here I am at 28 and still hoping to travel and be a photographer. Two months ago I was laid off from a great company that I worked 4 years for, it was my second home, it was my family. This is the first time in 13 years that I am unemployed. A little lost I was at first. So, I decided to see it as an opportunity, rather than a cruddy situation. I want to turn my hope into reality. It has taken me a long time to get here, but there is a reason for everything. You see we all have to start sometime, otherwise why are we here? So here it is, the beginning of capture the moment because we all have to start sometime and my time is now.
