Artist Statement There are few things in life that I find more captivating than photography. In fact, much of my life has been enjoyed through a camera viewfinder. My interest in making photographs has evolved over the years from the preservation of memories to the expression of creative and emotional thought. Photography allows me to focus a deeply personal awareness of the sensational natural world that surrounds us; an awareness that has captivated me since my early years. It is a simple hope that my photography might provide a means for others to share in this exhilarating aesthetic experience. These motivations drive me to walk into wild places year after year ... to seek out the unknown, to challenge the limits of what I know and to extract beauty from that which is often overlooked. In the end, photography is more than a craft for me. It is a way of life, and a reflection of who I am.
