Artist Statement I love cities AND nature! I currently live downtown Houston and am amazed that this "small" downtown (sorry, Texans,... but I've lived in several metro areas with larger city footprints) offers so much in the way of creative achitecture and building design. I think I could take pictures here for the next ten years and STILL find something worth photographing.

In the past I've been creative in a number of ways - music composition, sketching in pen & ink and pencil, and writing of all types. But, like the true amateur I am, I tend to lose focus when my interests become "chore-like."

I've been working in a career field that allows me to travel within the US regularly. And I'd picked up a digital camera about a year ago - intending to photograph different ball parks when I visited them (my other passion is baseball). It was almost by accident that I started taking shots of Houston at night. The way a camera can catch and enhance nuances of light and color is amazing!! So now, instead of sitting in a hotel room each night on the road zoning out on television... I've found myself sneaking into different areas to take a photographic tour of cities I visit. So far I've visit Dallas, San Antonio, Baltimore and Oklahoma City... Stay tuned for Atlanta and Ft. Worth.

I must say, by far the most moving experience I've had while out on my nightly visits is downtown OKC. I hope you like my pictures of the OKC Memorial, some with the Hope Flame visible in the background. I know they can't convey the emotion of being there. But I hope that help you remember - and celebrate - the value and fragility of life!

Seize the day! Carpe diem! Cheers!
