Artist Statement For over 50 years the "Wardhaugh" name has been synonymous with fine art in the Quinte region of South Eastern Ontario, Canada.

Many years in my youth were spent apprenticing with my father who was a Master sign painter and Master Gold leaf applier (Wardhaugh Signs & Displays ... 1926 -1980). When he felt I was ready, he asked me to assist him with Victorian home and museum fresco restorations along with advertising wall murals on buildings in the downtown Belleville area during the late 1960s and 1970s.

Around this time I had the honour to have been taught by Philippa Faulkner, RCA, OSPW, CSPW, OSA, SCA, MFA during junior school (Grades 7, 8). Not very many artists of this "calibre" would even dream of teaching at that grade level; we were very lucky to have her teach us my father once said.

Why photography?

Well? When in Highland Park, Illinois during my teens (long...long ago); I had a wonderful Graphic Arts teacher who was an excellent photographer in his own right. Also he invited many current and famous graphic artists to our school. Students worked on projects with the likes of William "Bill" Walker, the "muralist" that applied his wonderful talent to the burned-out buildings after The Chicago Riots of 1968. His work was made famous for the "Wall of Humanity ." I have a few old Polaroid shots of his work taken shortly after it was completed; images can be viewed here ---> http://flickr.com/photos/netreacher/.

I presently use a Canon EOS T1i, a Canon PowerShot A550 & a JVC GZ-MG20. Please do not hesitate to email me if you have any questions and suggestions.
