Jennifer & Michael Johnson, Huntsville, AL
Member Since February 2012
Artist Statement Born in 1976 in Fullerton California, Jennifer Johnson is a Jewish-American artist (often signing her paintings with her Hebrew name "Sarai") who works primarily in a style she calls "lyrical post-impressionism". Influenced by painters like Vincent Van Gogh and Émile Bernard, Jennifer favors visible brushstrokes and the bold use of color.

Jennifer studied art in the art departments of UCLA and California State University of Fullerton, respectively, earning her degree in art in 1998 from the latter. She took a hiatus from painting after her education, first to work in graphic design and then to raise a family. She returned to painting in early 2012, and is currently an exhibitor for the Huntsville Art League.
