Description On the western shore of Manitoba's Lake Winnipeg, there are many temporary piers constructed of local timber. They are temporary because ice on the lake would destroy them if they were left up over the winter. So they are rebuilt each spring. This was one of the more elaborate piers, with deck chairs and a table with an umbrella. Looked very inviting. Another photo, Lake Winnipeg Pier I, takes a longer view of the scene.
