Description The summer sky is ablaze with the suns soft yellow rays. They radiate across a sky of maroon, mulberry, violet, magenta, pink, and mauve, which gradates with yellow and beige into the soft sage green of the ground. Blooming front and center are a group of irises: lightshine irises, to be precise. Their standards are soft buttery yellow, their falls a deep magenta with a starburst of white, their beards a bristly sunny yellow. Above the flowers, in cheerful flight, are five American Goldfinches. Its a whimsical and summery scene, perfect for any nature lover. The original image is a digital collage. The image was created with Photoshop. A scan of one of my abstract acrylic paintings was combined with photos of my iris blossoms, scans of iris stems and leaves, a scan of my drawing of goldfinches, and a digitally rendered sun. Since the original image is digital, the only physical form in which it exists is as a print.
