Artist Statement Self-taught artist specializing in Southwest & Mexican Folk Art Paintings, Exvoto retablos ~ particularly Saint Francis, Virgen de Guadalupe, San Pasqual Bailon, Old Mexico Villages, Market Day Scenes, Mariachi, Day of the Dead, Don Quixote & much more! I love the tradition & culture of Old Mexico & the Southwest! Living along the border of Mexico I naturally inhale the aura that surrounds me and express its vivid colour, simplicity, and aliveness! The Chihuahuan desert of the lowlands and the high country of the Chisos Mountains are Heaven for this artist! I am blessed to have my estudio here where tranquillity reigns supreme!
