DescriptionMy painting is an modern abstract, impressionistic work that portray's the feeling of loss as we grow older in our lives and forget the past. It is to remind us to never let the past control our future but never to let it die.
Sonja Hilton, Zoetremeer Member Since July 2011 Artist Statement My name is Sonja, I am 18 I currently live in Zoetremeer, Netherlands. I moved here from Canada this year. I have received 8 art awards from my school and had a successful job as an art teacher for 2 years. I have had jobs where people have commissioned me to draw their family members but I create what I feel, what inspires me at the moment. I love art and I will continue to create it and finish art training to create a career for myself in art. I believe that art reaches different people in different ways at different times, my art isn't for everyone but for the people it speaks to I have noticed it really touches people. Art is personal, to love art is to love with an open mind and people who love my art have an open and creative mind and see past the colour that is put on the canvas or paper and see what is underneath, see the emotion and meaning inside of the art.
