Garrett Burke, Los Angeles
Member Since April 2017
Artist Statement His creative fingerprints are found across popular culture.

Topping 8,300+ entries, Garrett's coin idea honoring John Muir in Yosemite Valley became half a billion California State Quarters as part of the U.S. Mint's popular 50 State Quarters. His unlikely coin journey has been profiled in national broadcast and print media.

Before imagining a tiny piece of American history, Garrett created art for Hollywood's biggest names including Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, James Bond, Superman, Spider-Man, Disney and Dr. Seuss. Most memorable are five visits to Skywalker Ranch and designing the American Humane Association's 'No Animals Were Harmed' logo seen at the end of movies and TV shows. His designs have been recognized by the Library of Congress Permanent Collection, Graphis, American Corporate Identity, Hollywood Reporter Key Art Awards, Print, Spectrum, and the ANA Numismatic Art Award for Excellence in Medallic Sculpture.

A popular public speaker, his insights on focusing imagination for maximum value have been delivered for business, education and civic audiences. He authored the award-winning book 'Quarterama,' the foreword to historian David Bowers' 'Guide Book of Washington and State Quarters,' and was twice commissioned to design commemorative medals for the ANA World's Fair of Money. Raised near Philadelphia, Garrett often rode his bike to historic sites.

A Pratt Institute Communications Design honors graduate, he lives in Los Angeles.
