Artist Statement Karen E. Malmgren has shown paintings in art shows around the Texas Hill Country area. At this point in her life she is working with pastels, oils, and acrylics. Currently sky, sea and landscapes, along with flowers are Karen's favorite subjects to paint. Her love of nature is reflected in her paintings. Other interests are egg carving, gardening, crochet and photography.

Karen has had a talent for the fine arts and crafts through out her life. As a child she loved to draw. Art classes furthered her art talent and skills. She has also worked with beading, cake decorating, quilting, chain mail jewelry, woodworking relief and ceramics; always trying to take these things to a refined level.

Karen is a member of the Canyon Lake Art Guild of Texas. Through the guild she has met wonderful artists and fine craft people that are sharing of their time, talents, knowledge and skills. To all those she gives her thanks and appreciation.
