Member Since September 2011
Artist Statement Susan Tantlinger lived in France for thirty years where she developed her painting career. Group shows at the gallery Naifs et Primitifs, Rue du Dragon, in Paris were followed by her solo shows there in 1985 and 1986. A solo show was held by that gallery's New York location in 1987. There followed solo shows in Chicago and London, and many group shows in Paris. Her work was featured on cards and in the book "Chats Naifs," as well as many high end decoration magazines in France. There were yearly solo shows on Belle Ile en Mer. Susan's work is in many distinguished private collections, including that of the Duke and Duchess of Rohan. (Chateau de Josselin.) A Public Funds purchase was made for the permanent collection of the Musee des Arts Decoratifs, The Louvre, Paris.
Privately educated in the United States, Susan is a graduate of California College of Arts and Crafts, having majored in drawing.
Susan still accepts commissions for animal portraits. She now lives in a very quiet remote log cabin in Wyoming, with her bulldog, Meatball.
