Artist Statement I’ve been taking pictures since I could hold a camera. Always put in charge of taking photos at my mother’s social gatherings because I could manage to keep people’s heads in the frame :)

As I’ve aged my interest in photography has only grown. I feel as though I see the world a bit differently than others and I am able to express this through the camera’s lens. Angles, zoom, and lighting can only make beautiful things more pleasant, but it can also turn something deemed as ugly or chaotic into a piece of art.

My love of photography has turned more into a passion after a horrible auto accident in which I sustained a severe traumatic brain injury that changed my cognitive abilities and resulted in my withdrawl from university. I feel I am able to express my creative energy and busy mind through photos.

[2 years in high school and 1 semester in community college is the extent of my formal training. Always having a camera in hand has taught me more than I feel I could learn in a classroom.]
