Description An interesting metal contraption and the underside of the roof of one of the concrete structures seen while climbing the stairs near gun emplacement #2 at Walker Battery, Ft Stevens, near Hammond, Oregon. I think the tour guide said the device in the picture was used to pull the chains used in rotating the artillery piece. Glowing spring sunlight illuminates the dystopic looking scene of weathered, abandoned military equipment and corroding concrete.
