Artist Statement My name is Wendy King, but as I’ve found out, there are many other photographers out there with the same name. So, I use my maiden name and go by Wendy Amberson Images. I have a wonderful, loving husband that understands that.

My camera never leaves my side and if it does, I feel like I’ve lost an arm. My family has interrupted “let’s go for a walk” into “mom wants to go take pictures”. I have 2 boys and the youngest is always willing to go with me. He brings his “point and shoot” along with him, but for some reason when we get out of the car he seems to forget it and then wants to use mine. Maybe one day I’ll upgrade and he could use it all the time, but for now I don’t mind sharing.

I tend to take photos of everything and anything, except for strangers on the street. I try to be very careful of their feelings, some love their photos taken, and others (like me) would rather be behind the lens instead of in front. Sometimes I get funny looks for taking a photos of weeds in a field, or the big blue sky with the fluffy white clouds, but I’ve learn to ignore what others are thinking because they don’t seem to see the beauty at the time, but understand when I point it out or they see the photo later.
