Artist Statement My introduction to ballet began long ago, but the possibility of photographing the art in the intimate confines of backstage and from the wings during a performance occurred only recently. The effort these young artists put into their work is inspiring.
My photography has always been with film in various formats, and these days is always black and white. These images were taken with film cameras, and the results processed in a traditional darkroom. For purposes of this gallery the negatives were individually scanned and prepared for digital reproduction by me.
