Carol Rudisill, San Francisco Member Since May 2007 Artist Statement Carol Rudisill won her first national, juried art award at the age of 16. She has exhibited in New York City, San Francisco, Washington, DC, Richmond, VA, and Raleigh, NC. Most recently her work was chosen for the San Francisco Portrait Arts Society annual show.
She majored in Fine Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University and studied at the Art Students League. She has been a guest lecturer in design at the Art Center College of Design and UCLA. You can find her works internationally, in numerous public and private collections, including those of The State of North Carolina and Hallmark Cards.
Her professional experience ranges from magazine illustrations, murals and commissioned portraits to work in the digital world for companies such as Disney, Polygram and Compaq. As Vice President, Design for WashingtonPost.com she supervised an award-winning redesign and the launch of Newsweek.com. After many years working for "big brands" she has returned to her roots in fine arts and is enjoying getting her fingers dirty again.
