Artist Statement I was suffering from a case of writer's block in 1994. I found a plastic 35mm camera for sale in a thrift store for a dollar. I bought it and started taking pictures. At first I was just using The images for photo collage work (this was before Photoshop was such a big thing) but after a while I started framing some prints. I hung a bunch in the cafe where I worked in Austin, Texas and someone bought a print. That was pretty cool. Pretty soon I owned way too many cameras and had a darkroom in the spare bedroom of my house.
I started showing in Galleries. My work has hung in galleries throughout
Texas and the Southwest. In the year 2000 I published a fine art Calendar entitled "Hill Country Tex-Tures" with 13 Black and White images of the Texas Hill Country.
A lot of water has gone under the bridge since then. I still like using old film cameras. I shoot in 35mm, medium format and large format 4x5. I do 98% of my art using film and sell both darkroom and digital prints. For the digital prints I use scans from the negatives.
