Description View of the peak of Mount Teide in Tenerife from the upper chair lift station, 200 metres from the summit. Mount Teide was formed around 2000 years ago, long after the collapse of the older Las Canadas volcano that formed the large caldera within which Mount Teide is situated.
Richard Winn, Bridgwater Member Since July 2008 Artist Statement Avalon Light Photoart was founded in 2008 by Richard Winn, a sole trader and aspiring photographer living in Somerset. Specialising in nature photography, including wildlife and landscapes from the Somerset area, as well as the wider area of the southwest of England, he has been lucky enough to have a number of photographs shortlisted recently for the British Wildlife Photography Awards. The galleries include a number of images of the Scottish Highlands and the Isle of Skye, as well as the Greek and Spanish islands. He was originally interested in photography as a teenager, when he shot mainly using a Zenit 11, although he did borrow his Dad's Praktika while travelling in Nepal in 1994, as the Zenit was far too heavy. He finally succumbed to the digital age when he bought a Canon 400D in October 2007. He upgraded to a 40D in August 2008, after outgrowing the 400D, mainly due to his wildlife photography interests. This Imagekind gallery is specifically for customers who wish to purchase prints from outside the UK. Downloads and prints from within the UK can also be purchased from my portfolio site, listed in the menua navigation. He was a featured artist here at Imagekind in November 2008.
