Artist Statement I am a photographer and illustrator based in Sandpoint, Idaho & Usk, Washington. I am available for local assignments in Sandpoint, Coeur d'Alene, Spokane, western Montana and southern British Columbia. I am especially interested in collaborating with local artists and anyone working in the field of sustainability - alternative energy, farmer's markets, simple living, right livelihood, human rights. I try to be practical and sell most of my work as stock images through Getty and through my own website deeAuvil.com. I have designed textiles in the form of fabric, t-shirts and canvas bags. I'd like to do more of that. It's fun! I'd like to design table wear some day. I have a special interest in the place where history, biography, genealogy, maps and photography intersect. I collect vintage photographs and I create graphics related to history and family trees. And speaking of trees, we manage an old growth cedar forest in northern Idaho near the Canadian border!
