Artist Statement

I was raised in the country, and though I live in a Chicago suburb, I'm still a country girl at heart. I love nature, and I am most at ease when I'm alone in the most natural settings. That is where I find my peace of mind, my strength, and my truth.

I have drawn and painted since I was a child, but until now, I haven't actively persued a career in the arts. When I found myself back in college, I decided to start with a black and white photography class, thinking that it would help me with my contrast and composition in my sketches. Well, that's when I realized that I also love photography. After that, I discovered digital imagery, and now I have my hands into a bit of everything. I have been creating computer art for quite a long time now. But, above all else, I think that my first love is drawing. I have sold many charcoal portraits, and I hope to continue with that. I've also started painting again.

Now, I've decided to follow my heart - this is my first actual gallery and showing of my artwork. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed creating it.
