Artist Statement A photographer and photo artist from a little town in NY's Southern Tier. My current passion is intense color, and the transformation of photos to simulate paintings.
My cameras include a Canon Powershot and Nikon P-80. Both take incredible photographs and the zoom on the Nikon is incredible. For editing I use Core Paint Shop Pro XI, Microsoft Digital Image, Photoshop, and Google's Picassa. My work is everywhere including Picli.com, Red Bubble, Facebook and my photo blog at www.googleblog-rick.blogspot.com. I have a small gallery in my home and it has been well received by the locals. I am a frequent exhibitor and am currently booked through the end of July. My work consists primarily of flowers, landscapes, and composite nudes which are very popular with university students. I also have a large historical collection obtained from the National Archives/Library of Congress focusing on Native Americans. Besides being free, they are also copyright and restriction free, and very popular with men. I'm just getting back to taking more black an white images. The right image is strikingly beautiful when properly matted and framed.
