Description Fireworks in Alaska are best during the winter. This celebration was December 21, 2013 -- the winter solstice. We celebrate the winter solstice (the shortest day of the year) knowing that we will begin gaining daylight and that we have survived another winter.
Stephanie Brower, Fairbanks Member Since July 2013 Artist Statement Hello, I live in Fairbanks, Alaska. Most of my photographs will be taken in and around Fairbanks. Fairbanks has wonderfully warm summers (temperatures can be in the 90's) and horribly cold winters (often 30 degrees below zero Fahrenheit). I find great pleasure in capturing simple but beautiful images around me. I hope you will enjoy what you see, if you do leave me a comment! Thank you.
