Alex Drozd (Osipov Alex Pavlovich) is originally from Novgorod and was raised in a simple modest family by his mother. His childhood interests included drawing, the study of animals in a school of young naturalists, playing guitar, and religion. Alex worked at the Nikolayev Zoo for a time before leaving for Moscow to attend and graduate from theological seminary. Returning to Kiev, Ukraine, he was part of a religious order and began writing songs and music, which led him to become a songwriter and vocalist of the successful music group, Drozdy. Simultaneously, Alex managed to find time to create oil paintings and eventually his artwork began to sell out without advertising or gallery exhibitions. Today, Alex Drozd’s original paintings are in many private collections around the world such as Sweden, England, Ukraine, the United States and the Arab Emirates. Alex Drozd contributes up to 50% of the net proceeds from the purchase of these products to benefit the charitable humanitarian Ukraine organization Eastern European Outreach. The focus of this organization is on the younger generation, the 2 million children at risk living in the former Soviet Union regions who need assistance to become healthy well adjusted adults.
Eastern European Outreach (EEO) identifies those children at risk and designs support programs together with churches and ministry partners to assist these young people in their development. Thanks in advance for practicing the art of helping others.
