Artist Statement A writer and amateur photographer, I am privileged to live in and take still images of the American Desert Southwest.

The aim is to trap the ephemeral, or the eternal, through the lens, which is my eye, and the way I see the world -- or the way I choose to see a scene, a portrait, a land, an object in vivid still life -- whether in rich color, or in moody gray and sepia tones, in the shadow and in the light. The natural and man made.

I am often visited by birds and other fauna as I shoot, and they sometimes allow me to take their portraits, too. My reward for capturing a quiet moment in an increasingly noisy world.
