Artist Statement Painter and sculptor.
Alfonso robustelli was born in Sarno (in the province of Salerno, Italy) in the 1958. He always had the passion of art, expressing the world around him by self-taught. He began his career in 1977 with the first personal exhibition. He moved later to Milan, where he joined the art studio 'D'ARS'.
There he made his first major solo and group exhibitions: Galleria 9 Colonne in Bologna; Citifin in Milan; G.A.C. in Milan; Galleria 9 Colonne in Brescia; Studio D'ARS in Milan; Arte Cultura in Milan; Citifin in Genova; Galleria 9 Colonne in Trento; Gallery Nave in Milan; Citifin in Firenze; in New York, Brera, Milan, Urbino, Certaldo, Scandicci, Verona.

He won the coveted award 'Premio Biennale di Venezia in1993 with this motivation: 'Abstract art for a world without constraints, the imaginary for a wide freedom of thought. All these things in the strong and decided sign of Alfonso Robustelli's works, for a route to be followed without hesitation.'
Alfonso now lives and works in Sarno.
