Description After a quickly encroaching storm forced us off the water, we took refuge in a nearby tiki bar and watched as the winds and rains grew in strength. Boats stuck out on the water took down their sails and sealed their hatches as the storm swept over us. This image is from the thick of the storm, silhouetting ships and sheets of rain against bright light from clear skies beyond the clouds. The majority of tropical storms come up frighteningly fast, and sound very angry, then blow past quickly, leaving blue skies in their wake. The foreground of this image shows how dark and thick the clouds were, almost all light above and around us was blocked. Off in the distance, the same direction the clouds came from, appeared shafts of light as the edges of the storm neared. Not long after, it was over, and the skies cleared to reveal a beautiful sunset.
