Artist Statement Photography for me began in 1968 when drafted into the US Army. I became what was called, a combat photographer. After becoming a civilian again I didn't pursue photography for many years. Not until digital photography came along did I take a more active interest in the art. Digital photography changed everything for me. Now I don't have to wait to see my mistakes. I can make corrections on the fly and not only that, I can take thousands of shots and not worry about the cost. Like most folks, I like immediate gratification. I see what I've shot right then and there. I like it, I keep it. If I don't, it's deleted on the spot. I like the post processing part, too. That's where a lot of my creative juices get stirred up. I do believe a lot of the processing should be done in camera. Exposure, composition, etc. Well, I am now retired, I write songs, sing and play guitar. I've been doing the music thing since I was fifteen. I also play out live, as you can probably tell from my avatar photo on this page. I reside with my wife, Susan, my photographic assistant, and our two cats in Newark, Delaware, just south of Philadelphia, Pa. I hope you enjoy some of what I create. I will be adding images on a continuous basis because I shoot a lot of photos and I get into the creative stuff. It keeps my brain in great shape. Thanks for stopping by!
