Artist Statement Tony Stromas, born in 1958, harbored a profound artistic talent within him for many years. During his early years, Tony was captivated by the art of drawing, a fascination that steadily evolved. The journey commenced in the early 1970s during high school when Tony befriended an exceptionally skilled artist. Tony spent countless after-school hours at his friend's side, watching in awe as he brought creations to life. Inspired, Tony eagerly sought guidance, nurturing his burgeoning interest in art.

In the winter of 1988, Tony had cultivated a unique style and technique, his artistic vision manifesting effortlessly through dedicated study. His body of work reflects not only on his personal experiences but also encompasses narratives from a diverse array of people. The urban downtown environment played a significant role, ushering Tony into an unconventional, no-rules style of painting. Presently, his paintings exude a raw, playful, and at times, intentionally unfinished quality, holding within them a palpable potential energy. Tony's approach to painting is ever-evolving, a conscious effort to preserve his artistic liberty.
