Artist Statement Once upon a time... I´m now 40 years old and do freelance illustration work.
It all started way back in 1992 when i was in my early twenties. I was hired to do a couple of concept illustrations for a Portuguese software company wich at the time was producing the first Pc videogame and i ended up working with them for the next two years after my initial colaboration. I did dozens of concept illustrations, created characters, animations and supervised the whole look of the game and subsequent illustrations for the products that came out of it. Released in 1995 in Portugal and Spain.

After that initial three years doing illustration work, i went back to software design. Of course i would rather kept working fulltime in Illustration back then, but the Portuguese market even had a much smaller need for original pictures than it has nowadays and so i had to design software for a while.

Then the Internet started to fully develop (yes kids, there was a time when the web didn´t existed), and little by little i started to work on a few commissions here and there. A couple of magazines in Portugal, some newspaper stuff, regional children books, portuguese school manuals and general printing wherever it was needed.

About me: I´m 40 years old, i live near the sea and i love to read. I get inspiration from my long walks among nature as hiking is one of my favorite hobbies, also own a couple of mountain-bikes wich i put to good use, and i have a cat called "Mio" wich soon will be starring in her own children book series. I´ve just finished my fantasy martian 200 page illustrated saga called "The Adventures of Prince Ziph" (http://www.ziphcomics.net) and so i guess you can say i like to create comics. Other than that, i´m a big Coast To Coast fan (talk-radio), love ancient mysteries and i´m realy into the Mars controversy. Also Tom Waits is my musical choice anytime anywhere and i love cinema, particulary Oriental Cinema wich to me is the very best.
