DescriptionA lovely, and very primitive, cottage in the Haliburton Highlands. The vertical logs are unusual, I don't think I have seen another like it. It was only accessible by boat and had no electricity or plumbing. Despite this, my hostess still managed to add a little elegance with the waterlilly floating in the glass bowl next to the old fashioned jug and washbasin. This painting was worked up at home with the help of an on the spot watercolour sketch and a photograph.

Born in Germany to an English mother and a Canadian father, I have lived in various places on both sides of the Atlantic, currently in Southern Ontario. My family are musicians and I work in the theatre, I am surrounded by talent.
I paint because I must but my style, such as it is, is still evolving. I don\'t have a message, at least not one that can be explained in words. If I have something to say I will write about it. When I paint I use a different language, one that doesn't translate.
