Artist Statement Hi, I'm an artist and musician working in a variety of formats. As a young teenager, I started drawing comic book art, and developed an interest in photography as well as digital art in the early 90's. After going to high school in the small town where I grew up in western Illinois, I attended college and studied graphic design, photography, and developed a keen interest in music. After attending a local college in the Quad Cities, I transferred to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where I continued studies in graphic arts (focusing on photoshop), and added some multi-media classes, mainly sound design and mixing, and a little computer animation and video. After graduating college, I concentrated mainly on creating electronic music with a progressive bent, while I worked as a scanner operator and photo retoucher at a large ad agency. After a layoff in the middle of 2003, I started working on acrylic paintings on canvas (mostly abstract with a graphic touch) as well as doing some imaging work with some of my continuing interest in photography, creating psychedelic, sometimes surreal landscapes and spaces. I like to print these as gicless prints on canvas. Recently I have been doing some mixing and mastering for a few bands, working on some freelance work, and preparing for a gallery show.
