Description A friend of mine commissioned this for her husband for Christmas. He loves my artwork, and he loves frogs. Since hes from Mexico, I wanted to paint some of the tree frogs that are native to the rain forests of Central America. The red-eyed tree frog (Agalychnis callidryas) was too cute not to paint. There are two of them because my friend and her husband are the perfect pair, and its so fun to watch them together. They are very close. The waterfall behind them symbolizes abundance and good life, and the title of the painting is a play on the book of Ruth (Whither thou goest, I will go).
Asha Hawkesworth, Gresham Member Since August 2016 Artist Statement I love to paint and write. I am the author of several children's books, including "Grandma's Roses" and "Don't Bother Boris!" My art is inspired by the natural world, the realm of spirit, and my own children, who have collaborated with me on occasion. I currently reside in Oregon with my family and quite a few cats. In addition to painting, I love to work in my garden, bake, and enjoy the comforts of home.
