Artist Statement Claire’s work is all about emotional expression. She uses her expression in ways to encourage, uplift and inspire others.

“I find joy in moving others emotionally and have the ability to speak with feelings, not just from the mind, but from the heart. My photographs come from my own fantasies and unconscious life. They come from my feelings at the time and place of taking.”

Her images draw on the traditions of reportage and portraiture in her distinctive artistic style, depicting her subjects in their natural environment.

“Each individual is beautiful and very special. When I capture people I connect with them on a spiritual level and give them space and calmness so they can unfold and show themselves. A shooting is a creative process together. It leads us to magical places.”


South African born Claire Morgan was Awarded Honorable mention in the 2006 and 2007 International

Photography Awards (IPA) Competition and first place in 2008. She was also awarded Photographer of the Year in 2005 by Practical Photography Magazine.

Claire studied photography at Spéos Photographic Institute in Paris. Working mainly with black & white traditional film and developing her own pictures, she gradually moved towards the digital medium, and now uses it as her principal means of creative expression.
