Description The Kaiser automobile was created by the same man as the insurance company. He had made money in steel and the ship building during WW2. After the war he tried the automobile business. Building family sedans initially plain and later flamboyant. The Darrin was a two seater produced only in 1954 with the first fiberglass body on an American sports car. The Darrin name was from the then well known designer. The car featured unique sliding pocket doors that would disappear into the front fenders
David Pettit, Denver Colorado Member Since June 2013 Artist Statement I got interested in travel photography in a big way when I was on a Coast Guard Cutter and wanted to record the beauty of the places I visited. Most of my focus today is automobiles. Denver is a town overflowing with people involved in the car hobby. Since I have been obsessed with the subject since early childhood it was a natural draw for me. I particularly enjoy auto detail shots. I started a Flickr group on the subject called Auto Jewelry. I still like to do travel and architectural shoots. I love Victorian, Art Deco, Art Nuevo and Arts & Crafts buildings. Colorado and its neighboring states have the most beautiful mountain scenery and red rock formations. It's hard not to be inspired.
