Artist Statement Eduardo has been fascinated with art in general from a very young age. He was influenced by the amazing photographs that his grandfather brought from his many travels around the world and the paintings created by his grandmother, both on the father's side of the family. He was also inspired by one of the local photographers in Ponta Delgada, the city where he was born, and the fact that even in the film age that photographer was always experimenting with innovative ways to photograph and create art in the darkroom. Eduardo has dedicated most of his artistic talent to music and photography as a hobby alongside his career in computer technology.

The digital era and his background in computers gave Eduardo the outlet to express his visual creativity and go beyond just taking a photograph. He experiments with several digital techniques and the use of textures to create his interpretation of a scene he has photographed in hopes to make the viewer experience the mood that he was feeling at the time of creating the artwork. These techniques also allow some of the images to look like paintings.
