Description Watercolor, 15 x 11, I did this painting on New Year's Day 2012. It will be a happy New Year, perhaps with the exception of the cost of the toll on 520 bridge. I just want to express my feelings about the tolling, put it behind me and move on. 520 tolling is under way. It costs me $6.30 in tolls for a daily commute, about $1,500 annually. The price is too high. I think it should be about half or regular commuters should get a special volume discount.Traffic was light on 520 in both directions since tolling began on Thursday, Dec 29, 2011. Next week will be the real test as people return from the holiday. The state will use tolls to help pay for a new floating bridge on Lake Washington that will cost more than $4 billion. Pontoons already are under construction to replace the 48-year-old bridge with a new six-lane bridge. New 520 Bridge will be finished by end of 2014 or mid of 2015.Toll Rates: http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/Tolling/TollRates.htm
