Description Title: 'Alien Probe Released, v3, Edit E'.Years: 2003 to 2012.Copyright 2012 Nawfal Johnson All Rights Reserved.Series : OFF-WORLD ALIEN LANDSCAPES.Series Years: 2001 to 2018 (On-Going).ABOUT THIS ARTWORK:[ Alien Probe Released, v3, Edit E, was edited and created from 2003, to the final edit, E, in 2012. The original piece was designed in 2003. This is a mixed media art piece, using miniature sculpting, painting, drawings, digital SFX, and digital photography. The colours are more saturated in this edit. It took so many years because I let it sit for long periods, thinking about how I wanted to perfect the final rendition.]The OFF-WORLD - ALIEN LANDSCAPES Series :This is a mixed-media art series that began in 2001, and continues to the present...and I suspect will be one of the few photography series that I never put the proverbial, 'THE END'. These are images that could exist on some alien world. These are landscapes and seascapes. These images include photography, painting, drawing, miniature sculpture, and computer digital art. This is my only art series that composes so many art media elements. I was influenced by Science Fiction novels and Science Fiction TV shows to create this series, Especially Heinlein stories, and the Star Trek franchise. Nawfal Johnson Nur, Penang, Malaysia Member Since September 2006 Artist Statement IMAGEKIND: ARTIST BIO — Nawfal Johnson Nur — My Photographist Beginnings: When I pick up my camera ... when I compose the subjects in the frame ... and, when I plan and set up my lighting, I have one thing in mind — To take a better photograph than the last time.
I have been using a camera as a hobbyist since I was 12 years old, and then as a freelance professional since 1998.
Photography is a Madness for Me — My Work: I have been a long-time Freelance Stage & Dance Photographer; nevertheless, I focus much of my energy designing fine art Abstract, and, Abstract Expressionism Photography. I also design SMOKE-ART PHOTOGRAPHY, and that is the art style I focused on in my 2011 book, titled, ETHEREAL DREAMS and HOPE.
My Artistic Influences: My main artistic influences are Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko. As for photographic influences, I have always drawn inspiration from Carl Fischer, and Andreas Feininger.
