Description Black Labrador Retriever just passing through - this is a tribute to all rescue dogs who pass through many situations, shelters and foster homes on their journey to finding one 'forever' home. Original acrylic on panel painted by Amy Reges - who fosters Labs and mixes through a non-profit rescue group as well as rescuing Labs on her own. 40% of profits from the sale of prints, posters and the original will be donated to Labrador Retriever rescue. The black Lab in this picture was an 8-yr-old boy I fostered who lost his original home and entered a rescue program as a senior dog.
Amy Reges, Burdett, NY Member Since April 2007 Artist Statement I love to bring a smile to the face of anyone who views my art or make a connection by touching a shared sentiment. In my paintings I am not a realist, but prefer to simplify and abstract important elements that express a feeling, emotion or moment in time. I have worked in an array of materials and mediums - acrylic paint on canvas is my current favorite along with photography and digital manipulation and hand-painted silk scarves. I have always enjoyed training animals and getting to know what is important to them. Dogs, particularly Labrador Retrievers (my own and the rescue dogs I foster), are my first love and predominate my artistic passion. I love working with my hands, which also includes gardening and cooking. Both of these hobbies plus my love of nature also inspire my art.
It is a pleasure to be able to share with you affordable high quality giclee prints of my original art and photographs. My hope is that the art you purchase will brighten your day as it brightens your wall.
