Artist Statement I am a painter who has been working in watercolor, oil and mixed media after a 30 year hiatus from painting. I spent several years working as a calligrapher and graphic artist, did some teaching, and raised a family.

Each day brings new discoveries and learning experiences as I continue my artistic journey. No matter the medium, I enjoy painting the figure, birds, and landscapes. Being a people watcher, I love to imagine their stories and observe their interactions with each other and their surroundings, especially through body language. A visual language, communicated without words, is what interests me. It is my hope that my paintings convey something to each viewer on an emotional level.
