Description A former peasant girl who was kidnapped by slavers as a teenager and sold to the gladiator arenas of Heronium, Jena became a serious fighter and an extremely skilled archer. After years of enslavement, Jena and a group of other young women escaped from the arenas and fled to the wild lands of the north where they have chiseled out a new life away from men and the hardships of society.
William Olson, Owatonna Member Since August 2009 Artist Statement I am a farm boy from southern Minnesota and have been drawing since I was five years old.
Fantasy and Comic Book art are by far my most favorite things to draw, although I also do art from many other genres such as western, wildlife, african safari, architectural, and portraits. Pen and Ink is my favorite medium, but I also do a lot of work with graphite, colored pencil, and watercolor.
I am a graduate of the Commercial Art and Technical Drawing program at South Central College in Mankato, Minnesota. I showcase my work in at least a half dozen shows and competitions each summer where I have won numerous prizes and awards over the last 14 years. I have work on display and for sale year around at the Austin Area Art Center, in Austin, MN, where I am an active member as well as President of their Board of Directors.
Art has been a lifelong pleasure for me and will continue to be so as long as I am able to find inpiration in life. Fortunately, my imagination is endless, so that should be a very long time.
