Paolo Margari, Brussels Member Since August 2008 Artist Statement I’ve been waiting about 25 years before finding out that photography was a great part of my life. Photography, to me, is the mirror of space and time, a kind of secret love and pride. Catching an instant is like getting hold of a fragment of past and throwing it into the future. It is not important who will be there to grab it. History is a portion of truth and so is photography. We don’t know about other moments or places around it. And often we don’t know anything about the photographer, who is a technician, or a random player or an artist, able to show his will through other people’s perception. That’s my idea of photography and that’s me, through the images I throw into the future, day by day.
I have a Flickr account with more than 9 million views. My photos have been published on popular media worldwide including Forbes, LSE (London School of Economics), UNESCO, The Independent, Sputnik, UN, EU Commission.
