Thank you for viewing my galleries, and for wanting to know a little about me. I spent the first 19 years of my life in southwestern Ontario, Canada. Thank you for viewing my galleries, and for wanting to know a little about me. I spent the first 19 years of my life in southwestern Ontario, Canada. I then went to school in Winnipeg, Manitoba where I studied music. Following that, I moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where I lived for 26 years and raised three beautiful children.
In recent years I've returned to Ontario.
My first love in the arts was music. I was a choral music conductor for approximately 30 years, during which time I conducted choirs of all sizes and ages. In many respects, I approach my visual art the same way that I approached the making of music. My deepest desire, while I worked with choirs, was to have the music reflect the images, memories and relationships of peoples' lives. That "connection" was imperative. In the same way, I hope my paintings can touch people "where they live" or have lived.
I've been blessed by the commissions I've received where people have brought me their most cherished moments to put to canvas. I'm humbled to be let in like that, and relish every moment that I work on those paintings. Many of the paintings that you'll see in my galleries are not commissioned works. Some are. However, even in the non-commissioned works, I've tried to reflect that which makes us alive - the places, people and activities that give our lives purpose and keep us breathing deeply in wonder and love.
If you would like to comment on any of my paintings, please feel free to email me. And if you would like me to paint something special for you or for someone you care about, I will be glad to talk about it with you. Please visit me at my website for more information about me and my work.
While you're here, though, I hope that you have fun trying different sizes of the paintings on whatever colour of wall you choose! And also with whatever combination (frame/mat/no frame/no mat) that you'd like! I enjoyed setting a default frame for each of the paintings. I hope they give you some idea of how it could look in your home!
