I was born in Baltimore, Maryland but spent my formative years in Oregon. As a child I was an avid painter and sketcher and then vacillated between pottery and painting in high school. For years I was an impressionist interested in piling on color and texture with a great deal of concern for light sources and depth. Recently, though, I've become what I call "anti-dimentional" in a movement toward playfulness and abandonment of realism and depth. I've started to envy and admire the free and literal approach that children have when they create art and I've attempted to re-create that mindset...
