I was born an artist in Seattle, Washington. I set up my first darkroom in our basement bathroom at the age of eight and have loved photography ever since.

I was formally trained in fine and commercial art at the Burnley School of Professional Art in Seattle. I have worked in the fields of advertising and graphic design, and have owned an art gallery and picture framing business.
