When did I start painting and drawing: That is hard to really say? I drew for awhile as a child but only just for fun. I loved to doddle cartoon images like Charlie Brown, and Bugs Bunny. But as time went on I stopped drawing.
Art Education: I only started to really study art in college. I didn’t know what I wanted to do for the longest time as a student. I was studying in the early 80’s at the time at Johnson State College, Vermont. I took a few art courses for enjoyment and found a passion for it and that is how it started to develop for me. I consider myself a late bloomer with it but like everything else I have done in life my ambitions have always been a struggle and then blossomed into a brilliant light. I studied Art for two and a half years at Johnson State College. I graduated in 1987 with a BA in Art. I then continued my education at School Of Visual Arts in New York City. I finally completed my education in 1990 with a BFA in Fine Arts and received the David Rhodes Award for Outstanding Accomplishments in Fine Arts.
After College: Life after college became a challenge of challenges for me. I worked for a few years in Vermont with some friends of the family doing small end jobs for them. I worked in a gallery painting furniture, and then painting images on walls in family houses. My pay was room and board and a small salary it was more like pocket money. It was an experience living with the people and doing what I wanted to do which was art. After these jobs were complete I went back home and had to do some serious thinking about my future. I decided to learn the computer and take a job. And that is what I did. I put the brush down for many years. I regretted it greatly. I lost so much valuable time in my work. Only in the last three years have I been able to return to my work.
Palette: Color pencil, acrylic, black pen, and gouache paint on paper. I also use acrylic paint on stretched canvas. I continue to try new mediums and surfaces for my work. I am always learning and improving. I love to hear from others and see what they have to say about my work.
I am also the Traveling Artist: I come from a very European family. My background is from Switzerland so often I travel there to visit my family. I love to go to the mountains in Graubünden for hiking and take my camera along for a shoot of the landscape. When I have my pictures, I often create paintings and drawings from them.
Today: For the last few years I have been work as an Independent Artist. My work has been featured at http://www.redbubble.com/people/countrytennis very often.
