Description The road by Scott Slough three miles northwest of Hartford, South Dakota, USA is dotted with large and small bodies of water. They are all vital wetlands to keeping the prairies healthy. The smaller ponds we affectionately call Prairie Potholes; because like those in the roads they collect all sorts of water and have to be driven around.
