Artist Statement Àubrey Chali, is known as one of Zambia's foremost painters.He is a self taught freelance artist inspired by ancient African traditions/cultural roots and the environment. His works features in many prominent art collections in Sweden, Australia, UK, Finland, USA including the Henry Taylor gallery in Cape town, South Africa.


CONCEPT NOTE BY
Project Title: Re-afforestation initiatives in Africa-Zambia
Project aims to create collaborative climate change and environmental awareness campaign information center in schools which highlight local environmental issues, will bring artists, pupils and teachers to shed light on environmental concerns and enhance understanding of climate change, its causes, impacts, mitigation and adaptation. Arts and culture is a wonderful way to facilitate public engagement, bringing to fruition a community’s identity, enhancing connection and interaction with nature, inspiring children in schools to care for their natural heritage. Tree planting exercise will be carried out, thousands of trees will be planted and make communities understand the importance of environmental conservation and tree planting and its relevance in their lives.
