I discovered my passion for photography at the age of 25, before then I had never had any creative thought about the photographs I took. My albums were just snap shots of my life, friends and family.
Then in September 2007 I signed on a photography course, as it was the only course still enrolling that was one day a week. I wanted to have a bit of 'me time', being a wife and mother of two I had little time to myself and little time for hobbies and interests outside the family.
After the first class I knew I had found a hidden passion. I breezed though the 12 week course and purchased my first DSLR a 'nikon d40', then went on to enroll on a second course in January 2008. I had outgrown the d40 and my dear husband gave me a d300 for my birthday. Eight months, three courses and two cameras down the line I feel like I am finding my niche and Art Photography is definitely were my heart is.
My current work is shot using my d300 and a mixture of my two favorite macro prime lenses 60mm and 105mm. I love to custom the white balance and mix light sources to get unusual colors. I love square and have cropped the images in that way. I've got a while till my next birthday so maybe I can convince my husband to start saving now for a Hasselblad ;-)
