Artist Statement I was born in Pylesville, MD, where I became fascinated by art at an early age from magazines and art class. I began skateboarding in Middle School and spent most of my time either drawing or skating.
When my sister started going to school at the local Community College she took some photography classes, which taught darkroom printing. I was really interested in the process and wanted to try out photography.
I started attending the Community College myself after I graduated High School. One semester later I decided that I really loved the art and wanted to take it to the next level. In September 2004 I enrolled at The Art Institute of Philadelphia.
During my two years at The Art Institute I learned a lot about photography and life in general. I was able to intern for a local freelance photographer Jon Perlmutter and at Philadelphia STYLE Magazine. Also while attending the Art Institute I worked at the school’s equipment rental facility (The Cage), which gave me the opportunity to learn more about photography equipment.
I graduated in December 2006 with an Associates Degree in Photography and moved to New Jersey with my now wife, Danielle. We have since traveled to a few western states and plan on traveling somewhere new every year. Snapping photos along the way and learning from life as it happens.
